Error Analysis

     
      Learning a new language is a difficult task in which mistakes are completely normal to make because it is part of the learning process. Grammar, reading, writing, speaking, and pronunciation are some skills that must be learned in the acquisition of a new language. When a person is learning a second language, such as English, and his or her native language is Spanish, it can be a challenging process because the mother tongue interferes with the pronunciation of the second language. Moreover, it is very common for Spanish speakers to pronounce words in English in the same way that they do in Spanish, but when this happens, pronunciation errors occur. To improve pronunciation errors in language learning, it is essential to emphasize that takes time and needs a lot of practice. 

      An error is considered a systematic deviation from a set of norms of the language being learned. To identify and know why those errors of pronunciation are present in a learner, there is a useful technique called ¨Error Analysis¨. Error analysis is fundamental in the acquisition of a second language because the function of error analysis is to describe how learning occurs by examining the learner’s output and this includes his/her correct and incorrect utterances. Furthermore, the analysis of error sources has been regarded as a central aspect in the study of learner errors. Researchers believe that the clearer the understanding of the sources of learners’ errors, the better second language teachers will be able to detect the process of a second language learner. Indeed, errors in language learning are viewed in oral productions, writing, poor grammar,  and bad word choices. Errors are important for the language teacher because they indicate the learner's progress in language learning; 

     Pronunciation Errors are the influence by your native language when you are learning a second language, others problems are when the learners ignore the rule restrictions or incomplete applications of rules when you are speaking the second language, etc. Some correct ways to improve and correct the pronunciation errors are practicing the facial expression, it is important to have a correct movement in the tongue and mouth, also opens your mouth depending on the sounds for each word, it is essential to repeat and notices what, and where the mistake is been most common.  Always notice how your mouth and lips move. There are a few ways you can check that your mouth and lips are making the correct shape. Using a mirror is by far the simplest method to tell what your mouth is doing while you talk.
